Georgia High School Band Programs Nominated For BRONAA Awards
On April 15th some well deserving Georgia high school band programs, arrangers, musicians, and directors will be proud winners of a BRONAA Award. An acronym for Band Room Nation Achievement Award, the BRONAA honors the best of the best high school band programs and individuals in the state of Georgia. Some categories include Jazz Band Of The Year, Marching Band Of The Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Community Service Award, Director Of The Year, and Musician Of The Year Award.
The BRONAA is the newest program developed by Band Room Nation, an organization that supports high school music programs across America. "We feel it's time to honor music educators and band students", says Executive Director Lynel Goodwin. "We can't stress the importance of the community to support this program", says Goodwin. Some of the nominees include McEachern High School, Lassiter, Southwest DeKalb, Miller Grove, Lovett, Stephenson, Fayette County, West Lake, and Ola High School.
